In rapid prototype machining industry, aluminum alloy is generally machined by CNC machining. Common rapid prototypes are around +-0.1 mm, but at Molto, we use advanced CNC centers which can guarantee accuracy in +-0.01 ~ 0.1 mm or higher precision. The process for aluminum rapid prototype machining are CNC machining, polishing, sandblasting, oxidation, etc.
Under the instruction of the program, CNC high speed drilling and tapping center carves out the extra aluminum materials and gets a rough shape of rapid prototype. It is worth mentioning that the precision of CNC prototypes have a strong relationship with the performance of equipment, Molto modern shop can hold conventional tolerance +-0.05 mm.
